    It was discovered during a routine oil change in late June , one day before a road trip through the mountains. It was a costly repair. Had small lower linkage replaced. Works fine for the last year and a half! Alternator, starter, hybrid battery and related systems, regular battery, battery cables, engine harness, coil, ignition switch, electronic ignition, distributor or rotor failure, spark plugs and wires failure.

    Interior lights won,t always come on when you open the door. If they do come on the won. Similar problem with rear overhead lights. Was told they're all related. The code downloaded from the computer indicates a fault with the oil control valve for the variable valve timing. Take the key out and insert again and it would start right away. Antilock system ABS , parking brake, master cylinder, calipers, rotors, pulsation or vibration, squeaking, brake failure or wear.

    Diagnosis was a braking component that feeds all these systems. Took 4 weeks to determine the problem. Rotors had to be machined and finally front ones had to be replaced. About once a year calipers had to be removed, cleaned and lubricated because of scoring problem. Needs constant adjustment from mechanic to fix. My original rear brakes lasted until 85, km when I had to replace the pads and rotors.

    Service every 6 months. When the brakes let go they just started making grinding and scraping very very loud. Pathetic - and poorly supported by Hyundai. Also door seems to shift when opened. Had brake pads renewed but back twice to adjust as there is an issue with putting new pads on old rotors.

    Brake rotors don't last forever. Paint fading, chalking, cracking, or peeling , loose interior and exterior trim or moldings, rust. But there was a large area approximately 1. This provided no protection from rust or chips as they claimed.
